SPECIALITY FLOORING SYSTEM FILES

In order to better aid designers, architects, specifiers, and dealers etc., we have provided copies of Horner's flooring systems specifications in open Microsoft Word format. While the Adobe Acrobat specification files have been provided elsewhere within this technical guide, they cannot be readily incorporated into your own proposals and documents in the same manner that Word files can. Additionally, CAD two dimensional, mechanical drawing files in .dxf format have been provided as well. If needed, a free .dxf file reader can be downloaded from this site (a connection to the internet is required in order to utilize this link). Files viewed with the reader software cannot be modified; they can only be viewed. Modifications to .dxf files must be made with a CAD application capable of manipulating files in the .dxf format.

These speciality files can be accessed either by opening the respective Word or CAD file from the table of contents or clicking here, opening the appropriate folder, and selecting the desired file. Opening, copying, and modifying the document itself can be accomplished using any one of the methods listed below. CAD files should be opened using either the CAD application itself, or the reader (for viewing only) available by clinking on the link in the previous paragraph.

Editing a Word Document Directly from the CD-ROM

You can open any document or multiple documents for editing or printout using your Microsoft Word word processing software. Simply open the desired document files as you would any other file on your hard disk, by using the File:Open option from the word processor's menu bar and selecting the CD-ROM drive as the source disk/directory. You will not be able to save the edited documents back to the CD-ROM, so you will need to use the File:Save As option from your word processor's menu bar to save the file or files to your hard disk.

Copying All Documents (Word and CAD) to Your Hard Disk

To copy all documents of one type to your hard disk, use your computer's file management program (such as Windows Explorer, not to be confused with Internet Explorer, in Windows 98). Go to the appropriate subdirectory on the CD-ROM (just click on the hypertext access link above), select the type of file desired, select some or all of the files in the list, and then mouse drag the selected files to the desired directory location on your hard disk. It may be useful to create a new directory for these documents so that they are in an easy-to-find location on your computer.

Copying Individual Documents (Word and CAD) from CD-ROM to Your Hard Disk

To copy an individual document, follow the instructions above for using your computer's file management program. Cursor select the individual document file, and drag it to the desired directory location on your hard disk.

Copying Individual Documents (Word and CAD) from CD-ROM to Your Hard Disk from the Table of Contents Page using your browser

To copy an individual document from the CD-ROM, simply right click on the Word or CAD hypertext link, select Save Target As, and designated a location on your hard disk where you would like the file saved.
