DIN

DIN is a German standard developed to test many items including floor surfaces, for ball rebound, shock absorption, vertical deflection, area deflection, rolling load and friction. DIN is analogous to U.S. standards like ASTM and UL. Products can be tested against DIN standards by one of two bodies: The Otto Graph Institute in Germany, or the USSL in the United States. Standards for hardwood floors were introduced in 1991.

FIBA

FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, is an independent association formed by 213 National federations of basketball throughout the world. FIBA is recognized as the sole competent authority in basketball by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) FIBA is a non-profit making organization and, in principle, does not pursue any objective of economic character for its own gains.
